ICPAS SEEKS PUBLIC MEMBER NOMINATIONS FOR 2010-2011 AASC
Last Update - 03/03/2010
The Institute is seeking public member nominations for its Auditing and Assurance Standards Committee (AASC) for 2010-2011. One position is designated for a public member, who may be nominated by ICPAS members, by members of the public, or via a self-nomination. Nominations must be submitted by 5 April 2010. All members of the AASC are expected to act in the public interest and must sign a declaration committing to act with integrity and in the public interest in their role within ICPAS.
Nominations for Members of the AASC
Nominations can be submitted for the AASC.
The ICPAS Council will review the nominations to determine the best candidate for the position. ICPAS is committed to maintaining parity between practitioners and non-practitioners on the AASC. The principle of the “best candidate for the job” is the overriding consideration.
The AASC composition shall include practitioners with significant experience in the field of auditing and other assurance services. The AASC shall also include public members, otherwise categorised as non-practitioners, who shall comprise academics and users of auditing and assurance services.
Public members must be seen to be independent of any special interests and to clearly represent the wider public interest. Nominees for the public member position must have an adequate level of knowledge about auditing and assurance matters, although they do not need to have a professional accountancy designation.
How to Submit Nominations
The Call for Nominations for the AASC describes the position available and the qualities and professional experience required, as well as the process for submitting nominations.
All nominations must be submitted by 5 April 2010 via email to technical@icpas.org.sg.
