The Young Professionals Group Committee was launched on 27 June 2006 to create initiatives to engage and provide young accountants in their 20s and 30s with opportunities for professional and leadership developments.
Young accountants in the early phase of their career often have unique needs in areas of their career, learning and lifestyle. Through this Committee, ICPAS hopes to proactively engage this group of members so as to help them develop their career and achieve greater competence and knowledge and help them rise to leadership positions in the organisations they serve.
Jack Wang, CPA Singapore
The Committee is chaired by Mr Jack Wang, who is a member of ICPAS, a Chartered Accountant (CA) Australia and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) qualification. Jack has extensive professional experience with international accounting firms and financial institutions. He graduated from Nanyang Technological University with an Honours Degree in Accountancy.
Michael Heng, CPA Singapore
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from The University of Melbourne in 1992. In addition to being an active member of ICPAS, he is also a member of CPA Australia.
He is been an auditor since his return to Singapore and is currently partner of a medium sized accounting firm. Besides assurance and accounting services, Michael is also in charge of the business advisory department providing strategic planning, corporate health evaluation and business reengineering services.
Lee Boon Teck, CPA Singapore
Boon Teck is a Singapore CPA and graduated from Nanyang Technological University. He is currently a Senior Audit Manager with Deloitte & Touche and has 9 years of experience which two years were spent with Deloitte & Touche New York. Boon Teck has extensive experience auditing multinational corporations and local listed companies.
Jocelyn Lim, CPA Singapore
Jocelyn was with a Big Four firm providing consulting in the areas of finance and taxation and later joined a US based Life Insurance Company where she topped the ranks for numerous consecutive years. She subsequently founded and chaired the board of one of Singapore’s largest IFA firm and during her tenure she managed the acquisition of Aviva Singapore’s sales force. She is a Director of FP Consultants International, the Asia Pacific partner of the US based SOX Institute where it has successfully organized the SOX Professional Practitioner’s Programme in many Asia Pacific countries.
Jocelyn is the Vice-Chair of ACCA's SME committee and SOX Institute’s Singapore Chapter; Member of ITE’s Enterprise Development Advisory Committee, ICPAS’s ACCA Committee. She is the current Vice-President of SBPWA and leads the organization of SBPWA’ signature conference, where international speakers inspire women in Asia, as well as the trade mission to Middle East.
Alex Ho, CPA Singapore
Alex is in the Corporate Development office of Singapore Petroleum, performing the role of strategic mapping and M&A assessment. Given the company's business activities, he is involved in the analyses of refining margins, oil prices, product demand and supply, and oil and exploration activities and technology.
Prior to Singapore Petroleum, Alex was a Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers, specialising in M&A valuation and corporate strategy advisory work. His clientele included many SGX listed companies spanning across diverse industries. In his earlier days, he was an auditor with Ernst & Young where he has participated in IPO preparation, reverse takeover, and corporate privatisation exercises.
Alex graduated with a Bachelor of Accountancy, with a minor in Banking & Finance, from Nanyang Technological University. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst, and also a provisional member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore.
Eleanor Lee, CPA Singapore
Eleanor is an Assurance and Advisory Business Services partner in Ernst & Young. She has served a number of large audit clients in various industries including airline, property, oil and gas (downstream), manufacturing and Statutory Boards. Her experience also extends to financial due diligence reviews and technical consultations on accounting and auditing issues for Singapore Office.
She has 19 years experience serving multinational clients and public companies. Her current and past clients include BP, Singapore Airlines, International SOS, MediaRing, Speedy Tech, Woh Hup, A*Star, Bata Shoe.
Eleanor graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Accounting (Honours) degree and has also worked in Ernst and Young's Sydney Office where she successfully completed the professional qualification programme of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia.
Frank Khoo, CPA Singapore
Frank is currently the Head of Asia in AXA REIM, and runs the entire Asian operation. He cover areas such as fund of fund, pooled fund, direct investment and separate account mandate.
Prior to joining AXA REIM, Frank was the Senior Vice President in Pacific Star Group's Professional Investment Team, whereby he spent time in both the Investment & Development and Fund Management.
Frank holds a MBA (Accountancy) from Nanyang Technological University, a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science from University of Queensland. He is also a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Singapore and was a CRC (Australia) scholar.
